MARKING more than five decades of dedicated law enforcement, the Eastern Police District (EPD) celebrated its 53rd Founding Anniversary on August 4, 2026, at the Meralco Fitness Center in Barangay Ugong.

The landmark occasion served as the first-ever formal anniversary celebration held in the District’s history.

Centering on the theme “EPD @53: Kaagapay sa Serbisyong Tapat, Mabilis at Nararamdaman para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the event was led by Acting District Director PBGEN Melecio M. Buslig, Jr., along with members of the EPD Command Group.

The gathering brought together key police leadership, local stakeholders, and community partners to honor the district’s long-standing legacy of public service across eastern Metro Manila.

Distinguished guests included retired PMGEN Atty. Lucas M. Managuelod, Chairman and CEO of PSSLAI, who served as guest of honor alongside National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director PMGEN Anthony M. Aberin.

Former EPD District Directors were also recognized in a special tribute honoring their foundational leadership.

Station commanders from Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan police stations were in attendance, together with the District Mobile Force Battalion, staff officers, and members of the District Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development.

A major focus of the ceremony was the presentation of Individual and Unit Awards, which recognized police personnel for outstanding operational accomplishments.

Community partners and key stakeholders were similarly awarded for their continued collaboration in maintaining local peace and order.

Addressing the assembly, PMGEN Managuelod emphasized the values of duty and integrity, urging officers to embody prompt, honest, and impactful service.

In response, PBGEN Buslig Jr. commended both active personnel and community allies for their enduring commitment to the district’s mission.

“Our 53 years of service reflect the unwavering dedication of every EPD personnel and our valued partners,” PBGEN Buslig noted. “Let us continue to serve with integrity, professionalism, and compassion as we strengthen public trust.”

The celebration concluded with EPD reaffirming its commitment to fostering safer, more secure communities in alignment with the national vision for a Bagong Pilipinas.
