Matapos sipain ng Ombudsman, airport GM, kapit-tuko sa pwesto

PATULOY pa ring nananatili sa pwesto ang na-dismiss na si Cesar Chiong, general
manager ng Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).


Desidido pa rin daw si Chiong na hawakan ang kapangyarihan kahit na may utos na
ang Ombudsman na umalis na siya sa pwesto.


Ayon kay Atty. Harry Roque, dating tagapagsalita ng Pangulo, ayaw daw tanggapin ni
Chiong ang dismissal order mula sa Office of the Ombudsman. Ito ay nag-ugat sa
ilegal na paglilipat ng daan-daang kawani ng airport nang walang anomang basehan.


Kinuwestiyon ni Chiong ang utos matapos na maghain ito ng reklamo sa Court of
Appeals laban sa ruling ng Ombudsman.

“I even heard that a top transport official is lobbying for his reinstatement. This is
outrageous and unacceptable… Their mindset and skills are not fit for public service.
Where is their sense of propriety and accountability? Their sense of shame?”, pahayag
ni Roque.


Pinili si Chiong ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista para maging general
manager ng MIAA. Pareho silang matagal na executives ng Philippine Airlines.


Ayon kay Roque, malulutas lamang ang problema kapag nasangkot na rito si Marcos.

Dapat na raw sipain sa pwesto ang mga “inefficient and unprofessional” na opisyal ng
gobyerno, ayon pa kay Roque.
