₱360-B, Kakailanganin ng operators, drivers sa PUVMP

AABUTIN mula ₱221 bilyon hanggang ₱360 bilyon ang kabuuang halagang magagastos
ng mga jeepney drivers at operators para tuluyan nang mapalitan ng moderno ang
tradisyunal na jeepney.


Ito ang ipinahayag ni 1-Rider Party-list Rep. Bonifacio Bosita sa pagdinig sa Kamara sa
isyu ng PUVMP o Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program, kamakailan.


Ayon kay Bosita, may 250,000 ang bilang ng tradisyunal na jeepney sa buong bansa, at
marami rito ang naka-garahe dahil sa nahihirapang magbayad ng hulog ang operators.


Ang bawat yunit ng modern jeepney ay nagkakahalaga ng ₱985,000 para sa tradisyunal na disenyo at mula sa ₱2 milyong hanggang ₱2.8 milyon para sa mini-bus type.

Sinabi pa ni Bosita na kulang pa ang badyet para sa buong programa.


Matatandaang pinalawig ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. kahapon nang tatlong buwan o hanggang Abril 30 ang extension ng PUVMP, base sa rekomendasyon ng Department of Transportation (DOTr). Malinaw na hindi pa handa ang mga apektadong drivers at operators para makabili ng bagong yunits dahil sa kakulangan sa
pondo.
