27 maralitang mangingisda sa Leyte tumanggap ng pagsasanay sa food handling, safety

DALAWAMPU’T pitong maralitang mangingisda mula sa Brgy. Opong Fisherfolks and Vendors Association (BOFVA) ng Tolosa, Leyte ang tumanggap ng pagsasanay mula sa mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan.

Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng “Buwan ng Mangingisda,” isinagawa ng Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor–Field Operations Division for Visayas (PCUP-FODV) ang isang dalawang-araw na pagsasanay kaugnay sa proper food handling, food safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP) at fish drying procedures.

Ang nasabing training program ay pinangunahan ni Ritchel Radaza, PCUP Visayas Area Coordinator sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Katuwang din sa nasabing aktibidad ang Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) ng Tolosa, Leyte, iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno gaya ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), at ang Department of Social Welfare and Development–Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP).

Ang nasabing pagsasanay ay tinalakay ni Leodelyn Conejos at Ronald Jimenez, kapuwa resource persons mula sa BFAR, samantalang ibinahagi naman ni Melissa Calamaya, kinatawan ng DTI, ang tungkol sa tamang costing at pricing sa mabubuong pangkabuhayan.

“Dito sa Visayas, lahat ay tutulungan namin kahit ano pa ang trabaho mo dahil malaki ang maitutulong ng mga pagsasanay na ito sa ating araw-araw na pamumuhay,” anv pahayag ni Chloe Manlosa-Osano, ang PCUP Chief of Operations for Visayas.

“Ngayong buwan ng mga mangingisda, tulungan natin sila na makakuha pa ng karagdagang kasanayan na magagamit nila sa pang-araw araw na paghahanap-buhay,” dagdag pa ni Manlosa-Osano.

Buong-pusong nagpapaabot naman ng pasasalamat ang Komisyon, sa pangunguna ni PCUP Chairperson at CEO, Hon. Meynard Sabili, sa lahat ng partnered agencies na walang sawang tumutulong sa layunin ng PCUP na itaas ang antas ng pamumuhay ng maralitang mangingisda.
