TWELVE individuals, including two Land Transportation Office (LTO) personnel, were arrested in a joint entrapment operation in Pasay City on August 14, as part of the agency’s intensified nationwide crackdown on illegal fixing.
The high-impact operation was executed by the LTO Law Enforcement Service–Field Enforcement Division (LES-FED) alongside the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), including officers from Sub-Station 8 and the Pasay City Police Station.
Ground operations were supervised by LES Director PBGEN Allan C. Nobleza (Ret.), together with retired police generals Antonio P. Bartolome, Celso P. Bael, and retired police colonel Ephraim A. Arcilla.
All 12 suspects are undergoing formal investigation and face immediate filing of appropriate criminal charges.
Following the operational report, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao ordered the immediate relief of the two involved Pasay District Office personnel pending administrative proceedings.
Lacanilao emphasized that the operation aligns with his seven-point reform agenda aimed at cleansing the agency of corrupt practices. He warned that internal involvement would be met with swift legal action.
“We will not turn a blind eye to this kind of activity. We know how fixers operate, including LTO employees who may be involved, and we will continue expanding our operations to identify those behind these activities,” Lacanilao affirmed, assuring the public that operations will continue until corrupt schemes are completely eradicated.
The LTO reiterated its commitment to expanding joint anti-fixing operations with law enforcement partners to apprehend and penalize violators across all branches.
To help eliminate illicit practices, the LTO urges the public to refrain from engaging fixers and to report suspicious activities or offers directly through its official Facebook page, Ireport Mo Kay LTO Chief, or its dedicated online reporting site for prompt verification and legal action.
