SWIFT action by the Eastern Police District (EPD) led to the apprehension of a 26-year-old man on August 22, 2026, for the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old minor in Barangay Parang.
The suspect, locally known by the alias “Prophet,” was arrested by officers from Marikina City Police Station (CPS) Sub-Station 5 shortly after the incident was reported.
Authorities also impounded a blue Honda Click 125i motorcycle, which was allegedly utilized in the commission of the crime.
According to police reports, the minor was walking through Barangay Parang when the suspect approached her on his motorcycle.
After initiating a conversation, the suspect convinced the teenager to board his vehicle. He then drove her to his private residence, where the alleged sexual assault took place.
Following the ordeal, the survivor managed to return home and immediately informed her mother about the attack.
The family went straight to local authorities for assistance. Responding personnel launched an immediate operation, locating and taking the suspect into custody within hours of receiving the report.
In coordination with the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD), police accompanied the survivor to Camp Crame in Quezon City to undergo medical examination and receive trauma support.
The suspect remains in police custody while investigators prepare documentation for formal charges under Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) and Republic Act 11235 (Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act) before the Marikina City Prosecutor’s Office.
Acting EPD District Director Police Brigadier General Melecio M. Buslig Jr. commended the officers for their rapid intervention and emphasized the district’s strict stance on crimes against minors.
“Every report of abuse, especially those involving minors, is treated with utmost urgency,” General Buslig Jr. stated, urging the public to report crimes immediately via local stations or emergency hotlines to ensure swift justice and survivor support.
