98 Katawan nakuha sa Maco landslide; 23 Aso, 27 na pusa nasagip

UMABOT na sa 98 bangkay ang nahukay sa landslide sa Maco, Davao de Oro, ayon sa ulat ng lokal na pamahalaan.


Sa 98 katawan na nahukay, 80 rito ang buo pa, samantalang ang natitirang 18 ay pira-pirasong bahagi ng katawan.


Ayon kay Lea Añora ng Maco Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) unit. “As of 12 noon today, we have a total of 98 retrieved bodies…Eighty eight were complete body parts and 10 [were partial] body parts and we have 79 identified bodies and we still have 18 unidentified retrieved bodies.”


Samantala, sa bulletin na inilabas ng Maco LGU nitong Sabado, bumaba na sa siyam ang bilang ng mga nawawalang tao.


Sa siyam na nawawala, lima rito ay kawani ng Apex Mining at apat ay mga residente ng lugar.


Ayon kay Ariel Capoy, Maco disaster response officer, pitong search and retrieval teams ang nagsasagawa nang paghuhukay sa ground zero na kung saan nangyari ang landslide.

Umabot sa mahigit 33 metro ang kapal ng putik, lupa, at iba pang debris sa 10 ektaryang lugar na pinangyarihan ng landslide. Kasama sa mga natabunan ng Peb. 6 na landslide ay tatlong bus, isang jeepney, at 55 bahay.

Mayroong 1,503 pamilya na kinabibilangan ng 5,378 indibiduwal mula sa limang barangay ay nasa evacuation sites sa bayan ng Mawab, ayon sa Maco LGU.


Samantala, sinabi ng Davao de Oro Veterinary Office na nailikas na nila ang 23 aso at 27 pusa sa lugar ng landslide. Ang mga hayop ay iniwan ng kani-kanilang amo matapos iutos ng Maco LGU na agad lisanin ng mga residente ang lugar.
