Marcos: Excise taxes ng LPG, kerosene 3 buwan suspendido

APRUBADO n ani Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang suspensyon ng excise taxes sa loob ng tatlong buwan para sa mga produktong liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at kerosene upang makatulong sa epekto ng patuloy na pagtaas ng mga bilihin.

“Ang excise taxes sa LPG, maliban na lang kung gagamitin nae aw material para sa produksyon ng mga produktong petrochemical o gagamitin sa motive power, at ang kerosene, maliban na lang kung gagamitin bilang aviation fuel, ay suspendido sa loob ng tatlong buwan sa araw na ilabas ang Order na ito,” ang sabi ni Pangulong Marcos batay sa inilabas na Executive Order No. 114 na may petsang Abril 16.

Sa nasabing order, rerebyuhin bawat buwan ng Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC), na siyang nag-rekomenda, kung itutuloy, babaguhin o tatapusin na ang suspensyon.

Kapag naging maayos na ang kondisyon ng mercado o kaya’y tapos na ang tatlong buwan, ang nasabing excise taxes at ibabalik na sa lebel na itinakda ng National Internal Revenue Code of 1997.

Inaatasan din ng nasabing Order ang Department of Energy (DOE) at Department of Finance, sa pamamagitan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) at Bureau of Customs (BOC), na magsagawa ng imbentaryo ng LPG at kerosene stocks.

Magsusumite rin sila ng buwanang ulat sa Kongreso na may detalye sa dami at halaga ng nsabing mga produktong petrolyo.

Batay sa Republic Act No. 12316, may kapangyarihan ang pangulo na ipatupad ang suspensyon sa excise taxes, kung saan nagpapahintulot ito na ayusin pansamantala batay sa itinakdang pandaigdigang presyo ng langis.
