THE San Juan City government has started distributing social pension benefits to 1,500 qualified indigent senior citizens under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) program.
Mayor Francis Zamora, accompanied by his son and Special Assistant to the Mayor Rocco Zamora, visited the payout at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center to personally meet beneficiaries.
The latest distribution covers a three-month pension from June to August 2026, with beneficiaries receiving ₱1,000 per month, or a total of ₱3,000.
City officials reminded beneficiaries to coordinate with their respective barangays for the scheduled payout dates and bring their original and photocopied Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) identification cards and other required documents.

For senior citizens who are not included in or have been disqualified from the national DSWD pension program, the city government provides alternative assistance.
Qualified residents may visit the Public Assistance Center (PAC) at the San Juan City Hall to apply for local programs covering financial, medical, hospital, and burial assistance.
The city also continues to implement its own elderly assistance initiatives, including birthday cash gifts for senior citizens.
Recent distributions provided up to ₱5,000 to eligible beneficiaries, while local ordinances provide additional benefits for residents reaching advanced ages.
Meanwhile, Zamora and Rocco also joined other city programs supporting residents and community groups.
They met with members of the Greenhills Muslim Traders Association to discuss potential city assistance for their projects and livelihood activities.

The city government also supported the Community Mortgage Program title-awarding activity of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), where 913 land titles were awarded to beneficiaries from various parts of the country, including San Juan.
San Juan also recently hosted the “Handog ng Pangulo” activities in celebration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s birthday.
Some 2,000 beneficiaries, including barangay personnel from the city’s 21 barangays and members of transport operators’ associations, received ₱2,000 each in financial assistance.
The city likewise brought together various national and local government services, including social and financial assistance, healthcare, employment, livelihood, legal and civil documentation, business services, and veterinary programs, to make government assistance more accessible to San Juaneños.
