THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a fraudulent website, orus.ph, which closely mimics the agency’s official Online Registration and Update System (ORUS).
According to the bureau, accessing the imitation site exposes users to potential cybersecurity threats, including suspicious pop-ups, unfamiliar prompts, and unsafe content that could compromise personal data and privacy.
Taxpayers are strongly advised to avoid interacting with the suspicious website, entering any personal information, or granting browser permissions.

The BIR stressed that safeguarding sensitive taxpayer information remains a top priority.
To ensure safe and secure transactions, the public is reminded to access the genuine ORUS portal exclusively through its official web address: https://orus.bir.gov.ph/ .
Citizens should always verify the uniform resource locator (URL) in their browser before sharing any personal or tax-related details.
Individuals who encounter deceptive links, unfamiliar pop-ups, or unauthorized webpages claiming affiliation with the BIR are encouraged to document the incidents and report them immediately to the bureau for proper verification.
Authorities continue to urge everyone to remain vigilant against phishing attempts and imitation government platforms.
