6 na Bansa, nais sumama sa joint patrol sa WPS

iNTERESADONG sumama ang hukbong dagat ng anim na bansa sa joint patrol sa matensyong
West Philippine Sea (WPS).


Sa isang pagpupulong ng Mutual Defense Board (MDB) sa Camp Aguinaldo noong Huwebes,
sinabi ni Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. na ilang bansa ang interesadong
sumama sa ating navy sa joint patrol West Philippine Sea. Ito ay sa harap nang pinaigting na
pangha-harass ng mga barko ng China sa ating coast guard habang nasa loob ng ating teritoryo.


Magkakasamang pinag-usapan ng Pilipinas, United States, France, at Australia ang posibilidad
nang joint patrols sa WPS dahil sa lumalalang pamabu-bully ng Chinese Coast Guard at militia
ships nito.


Sinabi ni Brawner na talagang plano ng Pilipinas ang joint patrols. Ang patuloy na paglalayag ng
mga barko ng US, Japan, at Australia sa pinagtatalunang bahagi South China Sea ay katibayan
nito, sa harap nang paulit-ulit na radio challenge ng Chinese Navy ships.

Nagpakita rin ng interes ang Canada at Germany na sumama sa joint patrols.


Nitong Huwebes, sinabi ng AFP Western Command na ipinadala nila ang barkong Antonio Luna,
isang guided-missile frigate at Gregorio del Pilar, isang Hamilton-class cutter, malapit sa Ayungin Shoal.

Ito ay bilang babala sa China na pananatilihin ng bansa na bukas ang bahagi ng karagatan
papuntang Ayungin Shoal, na parte ng Pilipinas.


Samantala, sinabi ng isang US military official na handang tumulong sa Pilipinas ang US, sakaling
lumala ang sitwasyon, sa ilalim ng 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty ng dalawang bansa.
