Nagbebenta ng mababang kalidad na bakal, Ilantad – PISI

HINIMOK ng Philippine Iron and Steel Institute (PISI) kahapon ang Department of Trade and
Industry (DTI) na ilantad ang pangalan ng mga kumpanya na nagbebenta ng substandard o
mababang kalidad na bakal, para sa proteksyon at kaligtasan ng mga mamimili.


Sa isang pahayag, nauna nang pinasalamatan ni Ronald Magsajo, pangulo ng PISI, ang DTI sa
pagkilos nito para tiyakin na iyon lamang may mataas na uri ng bakal ang mabibili sa merkado.


Pero hinimok ni Magsajo ang DTI na pangalanan ang mga kumpanyang sangkot sa pagbebenta ng
substandard na bakal.


Ang aktibong pagkilos daw ng DTI ay magbibigay-proteksyon sa publiko mula sa mga tiwaling
kumpanya na nagbebenta ng substandard na bakal na nagsasapanganib sa structural integrity ng
mga bahay, gusali, imprastraktura, pati na ang buhay ng milyon-milyon sa ating kababayan,
pagdiriin ni Magsajo.

Kamakailan, kinumpiska ng DTI ang halos P30 milyong halaga ng substandard steel products sa
Davao City at Laguna.


Samantala, halos P18.8 milyong halaga ng mahinang-klaseng steel bars ang tinunaw sa Laguna
para hindi na ito mai-recycle at maprotektahan ang mga konsyumer.
