‘Unggoy’, nakapag-rehistro ng SIM card

MASKI unggoy gumagamit na ng cellphone?


Ito ang pabirong tanong ng netizens nang nalaman nila mula sa ilang marites na may unggoy na
nakapag-rehistro ng SIM sa ilang network provider.


Sa totoo lang, sinabi ni NBI Cybercrime Division chief Jeremy Lotoc noong Martes, na sila
mismo at hindi unggoy ang nakapagrehistro ng SIM o subscriber identity module, gamit ang ID
na may larawan ng hayop.


Sinabi sa isang pagdinig sa Senado na sinubukan ng NBI o National Bureau of Investigation na
mag-rehistro ng SIM card sa iba’t-ibang telcos noong Lunes, bilang bahagi ng imbestigasyon.


“We entered the face of an animal, using different names, natanggap pa rin,” pagdiriin ni Lotoc
at nagsabing may pagkukulang sa sistema ng SIM registration.

Ayon kay Ariel Tubayan ng Globe Telecom, maiiwasan daw ito kung 100 percent nang
naipatupad ang national ID system na may biometrics.


Sinabi ng DITO representative na ang kanilang SIM registration portal supposedly, ay hindi
papayagang makag-rehistro ng SIM card na may larawan ng hayop.


Iimbestigahan daw ng Smart Communications sa kanilang computer system ang katulad na
kaso.


Samantala, sinabi ni National Telecommunications Commissioner Ella Lopez na noong
Setyembre 3, umabot na sa 118,908,469 ang bilang ng rehistradong SIM cards sa buong bansa.
Nakatanggap daw sila ng 45,697 na reklamo na may kaugnayan sa scam.
