SINIPA ng House of Representatives noong Miyerkules si Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo A. Teves Jr. dahil sa kanyang “disorderly behavior,” bunsod nang patuloy na pagliban nito ng walang permiso.

Sa botong 265 Yes, Zero No, at tatlo ang hindi bomoto, pinagtibay ng Kongreso ang pagtanggal kay Teves base sa Committee Report No. 717 ng House Ethics and Privileges panel.

Ayon kay Rep. Felimon M. Espares, chair, House ethics panel, dahil sa patuloy na AWOL (absent without leave) si Teves, nilabag niya ang Section 141 ng the House Rules o Code of Conduct.

Nabastos din daw ang Kongreso dahil sa pagsasayaw ni Teves na naka-underwear na nai-post sa kanyang Facebook page, dagdag ni Espares.

“As a public officer and legislator, Rep. Arnolfo A. Teves, Jr. is held to higher ethical standards especially when the acts… violates the very same laws our Congress has arduously passed,” dagdag pa ni Espares.

Samantala, sa interview sa TV Patrol, sinabi ni Atty. Ferdinand S. Topacio, abogado ni Teves, isang “kangaroo court” ang komite na duminig sa kaso at hindi man lang daw binigyang ng pagkakataon ang kanyang kliyente na depensahan ang sarili.

Ang sabi ng ilang netizens, dapat lang ito kay Teves dahil ayaw niyang umuwi para personal na depensahan ang sarili, gaya ng utos ng Kongreso.
