INIANUNSYO ng Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), nitong Biyernes na magbibigay
sila ng educational assistance sa mga kwalipikadong anak ng apat na OFWs na nasawi sa
digmaang Israel-Hamas.


Sinabi ng CHEd na nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) para
ma-contact ang bawat pamilya ng nasawing OFWs.


Ang pagkilos ay bunsod ng utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na tumulong sa pamilya ng
apat, pati na rin ang reintegration ng iba pang Pilipino na nakauwi na mula sa Israel.


Ayon sa CHEd, ang mga kwalipikadong kaanak ay bibigyan ng libreng scholarship o libreng
college education sa pamamagitan ng Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education law at
ang Tertiary Education Subsidy.

Sinabi pa ng CHEd na makikipagtulungan ito sa iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno para makatulong

partikular sa higher education – ang mga Pilipinong apektado ng conflict sa Gitnang Silangan.
Ang apat na Pilipinong napatay sa Israel ay sina nurse Angeline Aguirre, caregivers na sina
Loreta Alacre at Paul Vincent Castelvi, at isa pang caregiver, na hindi binanggit ang pangalan sa
kahilingan ng kanilang kaanak.


Habang sinusulat ang balitang ito, wala pa ring anumang impormasyon tungkol sa naiulat na
dalawa pang Pilipino OFWs na nawawala sa Israel.
