Remulla: BSKE posibleng sa Nobyembre 2026 na

KUNG si Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla ang tatanungin, mas malaki aniya ang tsansa na pipirmahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang nakasalang na panukalang batas kaugnay sa Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE).

Matatandaan na niratipikahan kapuwa ng Senado at Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang bicameral conference committee report bago mag-adjourn ang 19th Congress noong Hunyo.

Ang nasabing bicameral conference committee report ay nagsasaad na ipagpapaliban ang BSKE na nakatakdang gawin sa Disyembre at isasagawa sa Nobyembre 2026.

Ayon kay Remulla, isinasaad ng nasabing panukala na maninilbihan ng dalawang four-year terms ang mga barangay officials (aabot sa walong taon) ngunit isang four-year term lang para sa mga SK officials.

Sinabi pa ng Kalihim na mabibitin lang aniya ang paninilbihan ng kasalukuyang mga barangay at SK officials kung idaraos kaagad ang halalan sa darating na Disyembre.

Isa rin aniya sa mga dahilan kung bakit mas mabuti kung sa Nobyembre 2026 na gaganapin ang halalan ay upang makasunod sa kasalukuyang batas na nagsasaad ng isang three-year term para sa mga nanalo sa nakaraang BSKE noong 2023.

Idinagdag pa ng dating Cavite governor na alinman sa pipirmahan ito ng pangulo, hayaang mag-lapse sa loob ng 30 araw upang maging ganap ng batas o dili kaya’y i-veto ang nasabing panukalang batas.
