LCP President Francis Zamora collaborates with Bicol leaders on governance and LGSF projects

SAN JUAN City Mayor Francis Zamora recently undertook a productive official visit to the Province of Albay, focusing on inter-local collaboration, infrastructure development, and disaster relief support.

Speaking in his capacity as the National President of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), Mayor Zamora met with key regional leaders, including Legazpi City Mayor Hisham Ismail, Ligao City Mayor Fernando Gonzalez, Tabaco City Mayor Rey Bragais, and Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Pido Garbin.

During the engagements, the leaders exchanged best practices in local governance and reviewed vital national government projects. The main topics discussed included:

  • Local Government Support Fund (LGSF): Fast-tracking the downloading and efficient utilization of national funds for rice assistance and infrastructure programs.
  • Educational Development: Progress updates on the National Classroom Building Program.
  • Inter-LGU Partnerships: Strengthening cooperation among cities to ensure responsive and people-centered public service.

Mayor Zamora emphasized the importance of swift execution, noting that the objective is to ensure national funds allocated to local government units are deployed as quickly as possible to directly benefit constituents.

Highlighting solidarity during times of crisis, Mayor Zamora led the ceremonial turnover of financial assistance checks from the League of Cities of the Philippines to the local governments of Legazpi, Ligao, and Tabaco to support communities affected by recent activities of Mayon Volcano.

Concluding the visit, Mayor Zamora held a press conference with members of the Bicol media to share updates on the collaborative initiatives and underscore the critical role of unity among local government units.

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mayors Ismail, Gonzalez, and Bragais, Congressman Garbin, their respective teams, and the local press for their warm hospitality and continued support in building more resilient and progressive communities.
