PHILIPPINE food exporters generated nearly $3 million in actual and potential sales during the recently concluded Taipei International Food Show (Food Taipei) 2026, opening new opportunities for local brands in the Taiwanese market.

Held from June 24 to 27 at the Taipei Nangnang Exhibition Hall 2 (TaiNEX2), the trade show brought together Philippine exporters and potential buyers, including importers, distributors, retailers, and e-commerce platforms.

The Philippine participation was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PHILEXPORT).

The Philippine Pavilion featured 12 companies under the Integrated Promotions Campaign for Philippine Food Products, with the goal of strengthening trade ties, expanding market access, and promoting Filipino food products internationally.

Among the products showcased were coconut and ube-based goods, pili nuts, canned crabmeat, wild raw honey, artisanal sauces, ready-to-eat meals, and beverages.

Participating companies included C.O.P. Pili Sweets and Pastries (Wrapsody), Destileria Limtuaco & Co. Inc., Fruits of Life Inc., FSJ Pasalubong Sentral, Jireh Food Products, Jing’s Cuisine, JNCL Ocean Ventures, Marigold Manufacturing Corporation (Mama Sita’s), Mira’s Food and Agriventure Inc., Philippine Ube Co., Philippine Wild Raw Honey Corp. (Honey Queen), and Wellnesscare International Corp.

The exporters also took part in targeted business networking activities organized by MECO, allowing them to meet Taiwanese trade buyers and explore potential partnerships.

As part of the business mission, participating companies conducted market research and sales calls with a major Taiwanese retail chain. The activities provided exporters with insights into local distribution channels, regulatory requirements, and consumer preferences.

The Philippine delegation said the trade mission highlighted growing demand in Taiwan for clean-label, health-oriented, convenient, and sustainably sourced food products—market trends that align with the country’s emerging food export offerings.

The strong commercial interest generated at FOOD TAIPEI 2026 is expected to help Philippine food companies expand their presence in Taiwan and establish new international markets.
