THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) officially launched WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 today, setting the stage for the country’s premier national skills contest.
Carrying the theme “Your Skills, Your Future,” the event highlights the vital role of technical expertise in empowering Filipino youth and preparing them to thrive in a competitive global workforce.
Scheduled for September 7 to 11, 2026, at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, the competition will gather roughly 350 competitors from TESDA’s 18 regional offices who previously emerged victorious in their respective Regional Skills Olympics.
“This competition is a showcase of technical excellence. Through WorldSkills, young Filipinos have a platform to demonstrate their world-class skills and prove that Filipino talent can compete and excel on the global stage,” said TESDA Secretary Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez.
Formerly known as the Philippine National Skills Competition, the event has rebranded under the official WorldSkills Philippines banner to reflect its complete alignment with WorldSkills International standards.
Competitors will vie for top honors across 30 skill areas, spanning key sectors such as Construction and Building Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Social and Personal Services, and Transportation and Logistics.
Beyond celebrating technical mastery, the national competition aims to boost productivity, innovation, and industry relevance across Philippine Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Gold and silver medalists will earn the chance to represent the Philippines in upcoming WorldSkills ASEAN, WorldSkills Asia, and WorldSkills International competitions.
The initiative builds on the momentum of the country’s successful hosting of the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition and aligns with Section 30 of Republic Act No. 7796 (the TESDA Act of 1994).
Furthermore, it directly supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to equip the nation’s workforce with globally competitive, industry-aligned skills.
Alongside the main events, the week-long program will feature an opening ceremony, conference sessions, interactive skills exhibit, cultural activities, and the General Assembly of WorldSkills Philippines.
