Igalang ang mga ‘inosenteng’ sibilyan—VP Sara

NANAWAGAN si Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio sa lahat ng mga tagapagpatupad ng batas na igalang ang mga inosenteng sibilyan kapag naghahain ng anumang warrant.

Sinabi ito ng Pangalawang Pangulo nang magkagulo sa compound ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) sa Davao City matapos ihain ng mga otoridad ang search warrant at warrant of arrest laban kay Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, ang lider ng nasabing relihiyon.

“Kapag ipinatutupad natin ang warrant of arrest at search warrant, tiyakin sana natin na igalang ang kaligtasan ng mga ordinaryong mamamayan lalo na ang mga bata, upang hindi ito magdulot ng trauma sa kanila,” ang sabi ni VP Sara nang dumalo ito sa pagdiriwang ng ika-126 na Araw ng Kalayaan sa Davao City.

Dagdag pa ng pangalawang pangulo, “Huwag nating kalimutan na ang karahasan laban sa ating kapuwa ng Filipino ay isang paglapastangan sa ating demokrasya. Umaasa ako na mapanatili ang paggalang, kaayusan at kapayapaan sa ating bansa.”

Kasabay nito, kinondena rin ng ama ng pangalawang pangulo, ang dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ang paggamit ng dahas at di-kinakailangang puwersa sa nasabing insidente.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng dating pangulo, sinabi nito na ang ginawa ng mga otoridad ay malinaw na paglabag sa batas o “overkill.”

Noong Hunyo 10, lubhang armadong batalyon mula sa PNP-SAF at CIDG ang lumusob sa iba’t ibang church compound ng KOJC sa Barangay Buhangin at Tamayong sa Davao City; Glory Mountain in QSands Baptismal Resort sa Samal Island at Kitbog Compound sa Malungon sa Sarangani Province upang ihain ang warrant of arrest kay Quiboloy.

“It is unfortunate that the obsession of this administration to demonize Pastor Quiboloy even before he could be convicted by a court of law is a clear maneuver to divert attention from the deepening crisis spawned by corruption, incompetence and abuse of authority,” ayon pa sa dating pangulo.
