FORMER Masbate Sports Academy (MSA) standout Ana Bhianca G. Espenilla raised the Philippine flag on the global stage after competing in the Women’s Javelin event at the World Athletics U20 Championships, held August 5–9, 2026, at Hayward Field, University of Oregon.

Espenilla, who holds the Philippine National U20 Record, delivered a 48.71-meter throw to finish 14th out of 28 elite global competitors and claimed sixth place in Group B.

Her international performance marks a major breakthrough in her career, tracing back to her roots under the Schools Division Office of Masbate Province (DepEd Region V).

Espenilla currently competes as an athletic scholar for Far Eastern University (FEU).

Representing MSA, school officials expressed immense pride in her journey from local grassroots sports programs to the world stage, emphasizing how structured support, education, and disciplined training pave the way for homegrown talents.
