Poe: Cha-cha, a can of worms?

BINALAAN ni Sen. Grace Poe ang mga nagpapanukalang baguhin ang 1987 Constitution na mag-isip munang mabuti dahil maaaring humantong ito sa perhuwisyo.


Ayon kay Poe, “Treading the path of constitutional reforms should be done in careful and measured ways as it could open a can of worms.”


“Kailangan nga ba natin ng Cha-Cha para sabihin that we’re open for business? Sabi nila, sarado ang ating ekonomiya. Pero ang totoo, bukas naman talaga tayo sa foreign investors,” saad ni Poe sa pagbubukas ng pagdinig sa Resolution No. 6 ng Senado at Kamara hinggil sa Charter change o Cha-cha.


Sinabi pa ng senador na may nagawa na tayo nitong mga nakaraang taon para buksan ang ating ekonomiya nang hindi isinasantabi ang seguridad ng bansa pati na ang mga negosyanteng Pilipino.

Idiniin pa ni Poe na ang Republic Act No. 11659 o “Amended Public Service Act” (PSA), na kanyang inawtor, ay humihikayat sa mga bagong imbestor para sa mga sektor ng airports, railways, expressways, at telcos, nang hindi binabago ang ating Konstitusyon.


“Pwedeng makontrol ng ibang bansa ang tubig, kuryente, seaports, gasolina, at public utility jeeps natin. Handa ba tayo rito? Kaya ba nating makipagkumptensya sa kanila?” aniya pa.


“Kung dumaan sa butas ng karayom ang 86 year-old Public Service Act, mas lalong kailangan nating masuyod ang pag-amyenda ng ating 37-year-old na Saligang Batas,” pagtatapos ni Poe.
