Zubiri OK sa rebyu ng economic provisions ng 1987 Constitution; resolusyon inihain

PARA maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng krisis sa ating Konstitusyon, naghain si Senate
President Juan Miguel Zubiri ng pinagsamang resolusyon ng Senado at Karama upang
maamyendahan ang ilang probisyon ng 1987 Constitution.

Nilinaw ni Zubiri na tangi lamang na babaguhin ang economic provisions ng Saligang
Batas.

“This is to avert a constitutional crisis between the House of Representatives and the
Senate and to make it clear that there are no other planned provisions or
amendments on any other thing but purely economic in nature,” ayon kay Zubiri.

Tinukoy ng Resolution No. 6 ang mga aamyendahan, particular ang Section 11 Article
12 (National Patrimony and Economy); Paragraph 2, Section 4 ng Article 14 (Education,
Science and Technology, Arts, Culture, and Sports); at Paragraph 2 Section 11 ng
Article 16 (General Provisions).

Matatandaang inatasan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang Senado na pag-
aralanng mabuti ang economic provisions ng naturang Saligang Batas.

Kontra ang Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines sa anomang pag-a-
amyenda sa Konstitusyon, pati na rin ang maraming mga mamamayan dahil diumano, ito’y maaaring magkaroon nang mas malaking pagbabago lalo na sa ating form of
government.
