Biggest solar project sa mundo, itatayo sa ‘Pinas

Inihahanda na ng SP New Energy Corp. (SPNEC) ang 3,500 ektaryang lupain sa Nueva
Ecija at Bulacan para pagtayuan ng pinakamalaking solar power project sa mundo.


Ang proyekto ay para sa Terra Solar Philippines, inc., isang kumpanyang 100 percent na
pag-aari ng SPNEC.


Inaasahang matatapos ang Phase I ng proyekto sa unang kwarter ng 2026.


Magtatayo ng 3,500 megawatts na solar panels at maglalagay ng 4,000 megawatt-hours
(MWh) storage batteries ang proyekto na tinatayang aabot sa P200 bilyon.


Natapos na kamakailan ng kumpanya ang instalasyon ng solar panels para sa bahagi ng
proyekto sa Nueva Ecija.


Tinatayang aabot sa mahigit five billion kilowatt-hours na kuryente bawat taon ang
generation capacity ng proyekto, halos five percent ng kabuuang bolyum ng Philippine
grid at 12 percent nang kabuuang demand.

Ang proyekto ay mas malaki pa kaysa Bhadla Solar Park ng India at Golmud Solar Park
ng China, na sa ngayon, ang pinakamalaking solar farms sa buong mundo na may
kapasidad na mahaigit 2.2 gigawatts (GW).


Pinabibilis lalo ng SPNEC ang proyekto matapos nitong matanggap ang P15.9-billion
investment ng MGen Renewable Energy Inc. (MGreen) nitong Disyembre 27.


MGreen ang renewable energy development arm ng Meralco Powergen Corp., isang
kumpanya sa ilalim ng Manila Electric Company.


Ayon kay Engr. William Juan, kapag natapos na ang buong proyekto, tiyak na maibababa
nang husto ang presyo ng kuryente sa service areas nito, at makatutulong pa para
maging malinis sa hangin sa bahaging ito ng bansa.
