4,864 Hindi rehistradong sasakyan, natiklo ng LTO

NO RETREAT. No surrender!


Tila ito marahil ang nais ipahiwatig ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa kanilang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng “No Re­gistration, No Travel” policy sa buong Pilipinas.


Ayon kay LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II, umabot sa 4,864 sasakyan ang nahuli sa pinaigting na pagpapatupad ng naturang polisiya.


Muling hinikayat ni Mendoza ang delinguent motor vehicle owners na irehistro muna ang
kanilang sasakyan bago ito gamitin para maiwasan ang abala at aksidente dahil hindi ito dumaan sa roadworthiness inspection.


Idinugtong pa niya na habang patuloy na nagiging pasaway ang mga may-ari ng 24.7 milyong sasakyan na hindi nakarehistro sa buong bansa, hindi sila titigil hangga’t hindi nahuhuli ang mga may-ari nito.


May kabuuang 251 delinquent motor vehicle owners/drivers ang nalambat sa Metro Manila
kahapon.

Idiniin ni Mendoza na higit nilang paiigtingin ang kampanya sa Metro Manila, Central Luzon at Calabarzon dahil ang mga lugar na ito ang may pinakamaraming delinquent vehicle owners.


Samantala, ayon sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) umabot sa 22,933
ang bilang ng mga naaksidente sa motorsiklo magmula Enero hanggang Oktubre sa taong ito.


Sa bilang na ito, 166 ang namatay, 12,410 ang nasaktan o nasugatan, at 10,357 ang bilang na nagtamo ng damage to property.


Noong 2022, mayroong 26,599 aksidente sa motorsiklo ang nangyari sa Metro Manila na
ikinamatay ng 278 riders at angkas nito.


Ayon pa sa report, marami sa mga naaksidenteng motorsiklo ang hindi rehistrado sa LTO, kaya kwestyonable pa ang pagiging ligtas nito na gamitin sa kalsada.
