INIANUNSYO ng House of Representatives na ang kanilang website ay “fully restored and
operational” kahapon, matapos na ito’y ma-hack ng grupong 3Musketeerz.


Sinabi ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco gumawa ang Kongeso ng
komprehensibong aksyon para mapalakas ang seguridad ng kanilang website.


“The investigation into the unauthorized access is ongoing, and we are collaborating closely
with relevant law enforcement agencies…Our aim is to identify and prosecute those responsible
for this breach to the fullest extent of the law,” saad ni Velasco.


Naging biktima ng cyber-attack ang portal ng Kongreso nitong Linggo ng umaga at hindi muna
magamit magmula 12:55 p.m. hanggang kinabukasan, matapos na ma-deface ang homepage nito
at magkaroon ng pekeng press releases at nakaiinsultong mukha ng maskara.

Binabalaan ni Velasco ang publiko na maging maingat, baka makatanggap sila ng pekeng emails
na diumano ay nagmumula sa Kongreso o kahit na sa kaninong Kongresista, pero ito’y mula sa
hackers.


Nauna nang na-hack ang websites ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Philippine
Statistics Authority, at Department of Science and Technology.


Ayon sa isang observer, ipinakikita lamang nito na kahit na napakalaki ang ginagastos ng mga
ahensya ng gobyerno sa kanilang portals, mahina pa rin ang kanilang firewall o security.
