Pilipinas nangulelat sa “talent ranking”

NASA ika-60 na mula sa dating ika-54 na pwesto noong 2022 ang Pilipinas sa talent
competitiveness sa 64 bansa sa buong mundo.


Ito’y ayon sa pag-aaral na inilabas nitong Huwebes ng International Institute for Management
Development (IMD), na naka-base sa Switzerland.


Sa Asia-Pacific, nangunguna ang Singapore, sumunod ang Hong Kong at Australia,
samantalang nasa ika-13 ang Pilipinas.


Ipinakikita ng World Talent Ranking (WTR) report na malakas ang Pilipinas sa skilled labor,
labor force growth, at cost-of-living index.


Mahina naman ito sa public expenditure on education per student, pupil-teacher ratio in
secondary education at low inbound of student mobility.


Gumamit ang WTR na 31 criteria kasali ang hard data at survey mula sa executives. Bawat
pamantayan ay inorganisa sa tatlong factors: investment and development, appeal and
readiness.

Patuloy pa rin ang Switzerland na naunguna sa talent competitiveness, magmula pa nang
nagsimula ang IMD ranking noong 2014. Sumunod ang Luxembourg, at ikatlo ang Iceland.


Naniniwala ang ilang observers na kailangang paghusayin ang educational system ng bansa
magmula elementarya hanggang kolehiyo, na mag-focus sa mga kurso sa science and
technology, IT, medicine, engineering, teacher education, at in-demand business courses.
