‘WAGI na naman tayong mga Pinoy!
Kinilala kamakailan ng Taste Atlas, isang kilalang online food guide, ang mga pagkaing Pinoy
kagaya nang pancit: bihon, malabon, at canton sa “50 Best Rated Stir-Fry Dishes”.


Nakakuha ng 4.2 rating ang pancit malabon, na nasa top 22, samantalang 4.0 ang pancit , na nasa ika-32.


Nasa ika-34 na pwesto ang pancit bihon, na may 4.0 rating, samantalang nasa ika-36 ang pancit
canton na may 3.9 rating.


Sinabi ng Taste Atlas, na karaniwan nang makikita ang pancit sa maraming pagtitipon at
pagdiriwang ng mga Pilipino kagaya ng pista at birthday. Iginigisa raw muna ang rekado sa pancit
kagaya ng pork, chicken, shrimp, celery, carrots, bawang, sibuyas at repolyo, bago ilagay ang
pancit.


“Dahil ang mahaba at makapal na noodles ay sumisimbolo sa mahaba at maunlad na buhay, ang
versatile at makulay na pagkain ay kadalasang inihahanda sa espesyal na okasyon, sa iba’t-ibang
pagdiriwang kagaya ng birthdays at iba pa,” saad ng Taste Atlas sa wikang English.

Base sa paglalarawan ng Taste Atlas sa website nito, ang pancit malabon ay nabibilang sa
malawak na grupo ng traditional Filipino stir-fried noodle dishes.

Samantala, may Chinese origin daw ang pancit. Nagmula ang pangalan nito sa pariralang Hokkien
na “pian i sit” na nangangahulugang, kumbinyente at mabilis maluto.
