INIANUNSYO kahapon ni Senador Win Gatchalian na isa nang ganap na batas ang Regional
Specialty Centers Act o Republic Act No. 11959.


Nakasaad sa naturang batas na kailangang magpatayo ng isang specialty center sa bawat
ospital ng Department of Health, sa lahat ng rehiyon sa bansa sa loob ng limang taon.


Sinabi ni Gatchalian, may-akda ng batas na maghahatid sa mga Pilipino ng abot-kayang
serbisyong pangkalusugan ang regional specialty centers (RSC).


“Sa pamamagitan ng Regional Specialty Centers Act, unti-unti nating mailalapit sa mas marami
nating mga kababayan ang specialized healthcare services. Kung mapapatayuan natin ang
bawat rehiyon ng specialty center, hindi na kakailanganin pang bumiyahe ng ating mga
kababayan mula sa mga probinsya papuntang Metro Manila para lang makatanggap ng
dekalidad na serbisyong pang-kalusugan,” ani Gatchalian.

BASAHIN  No permit, no exam policy, ipagbabawal na


Ang specialty centers ay departamento o unit sa bawat regional hospital na tututok sa
maseselang karamdaman katulad ng cancer care, cardiovascular care, lung care, renal care at
kidney transplant, brain at spine care, mental health, at iba pa.


Sa ilalim ng batas, titiyakin ng DoH na may sapat na expert personnel, medical specialists, at
kumpletong kagamitan sa bawat specialty center.


Nagpasalamat si Gatchalian kay Senador Christopher “Bong” Go na nagsilbing sponsor ng
batas sa Senado.
Ayon kay A. Villavicencio, isang retired na guro sa San Fernando, Pampanga, isa raw malaking
tulong – lalo na sa mga mahihirap – ang specialty centers kapag tuluyan na itong naipatupad.
Hindi na raw kailangang lumuwas pa ng Maynila para magpagamot.
