Mahigit 273,000 COCs nai-file para sa BSKE

UMABOT sa 273,454 indibidwal ang naghain na ng kani-kanilang certificates of
candidacy (CoCs) para sa 2023 Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE),
ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec), noong Martes.


Ayon sa datos ng Comelec, ang bilang ay 35.23 percent lamang ng 672,016 bakanteng
posisyon 2023 BSKE.


Sa nabanggit na bilang, may kabuuang 21,657 ang nag-file para sa posisyon ng
barangay chairman, 143,638 para sa barangay councilman o kagawad. Umabot sa
17,085 ang nag-file ng kanilang CoCs para sa SK chairman, at 91,071 para sa SK
members.


Ang datos ay mula sa 42,001 barangays, 81 sa 82 lalawigan. Wala pang datos mula sa
South Cotabato.


Ang filing ng CoCs ay nagsimula noong Agosto 28 hanggang Setyembre 2, at ang
eleksyon ay gaganapin sa darating na Oktubre 30.

Samantala, sinabi ni Comelec chair George Garcia na mayroong apat na kaso ng
election-related violence ang naganap sa Albay, Rizal, at Maguindanao provinces.

Sa Libon, Albay, isang barangay captain ang binaril at napatay habang nagpa-file ng
kanyang CoC.


Sinabi pa ni Garcia na may kabuuang anim na baril at 17 patalim at iha pang deadly
weapons ang nakumpiska sa ilang checkpoints, at 10 indibidwal ang hinuli.


Nagpatupad ang Comelec ng gun ban noong Agosto 28 – kasabay ng filing ng CoCs –
at matatapos hanggang Nobyembre 28.
