P5.7 Trilyong budget, isinumite na sa Kongreso

BINIGYAN ng komendasyon ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang Department of
Budget and Management (DBM) matapos nitong isumite sa Kongreso ang Proposed 2024
National Budget kamakailan.


Ito ay dahil natanggap ng Kongreso ang proposed budget ng 10 araw na mas maaga kaysa
itinakda ng 1987 Konstitusyon na 30 araw.


Ayon sa Speaker, mabibigyan nito ang mga mambabatas na masusing mapag-aralan ang
bawat item ng panukalang badyet.


Nangunguna pa rin sa 2024 National Budget ang Department of Education, Commission on
Higher Education, state universities and colleges (P924.7 bilyon), Department of Public Works
and Highways (P822.2 bilyon), Department of Health (P306.1 bilyon),

Department of the Interior and Local Government (P259.5 bilyon), Department of National Defense (P232.2 bilyon), Department of Transportation (P214.3 bilyon), Department of Social Welfare and Development (P209.9 bilyon), Department of Agriculture (P181.4 bilyon), judiciary (P57.8 bilyon) at Departments of Labor and Employment and Migrant Workers (P40.5 bilyon).

Umabot sa 12 percent (P699.2 bilyon) ang mapupunta sa pagbabayad ng utang, 15.5 percent
(P893.3 bilyon) para sa general public services, at ang maliit na bahagi ng 4.9 percent
(P282.7 bilyon) para sa pagpapaunlad ng kakayahang pang-depensa ng bansa.


Samantalang ang nakahiwalay na P1.4 trilyon ay gagamiting para pondohan ang mga
proyektong pang-istraktura ng bansa.
