DAVAO CITY – The Department of Tourism in Davao Region (DOT-11) opened Friday the Davao Dive Expo 2023 showcasing the various diving destinations in the region through an exhibit.
DOT-11 Director Tanya Rabat-Tan said the three-day event will highlight the region as a place to experience aqua-sports activities such as island hopping, snorkeling, skim boarding, free diving, and scuba diving.

“Today, we are excited to have another opportunity to gain knowledge, draw inspiration from, and discover countless potentials for Davao region’s dive industry,” Tan said.

Tan expressed optimism that by launching new dive sites and networking with experts and stakeholders, DOT will be able to help promote and establish better plans for the development of Davao’s dive industry.

“The next three days will fuel aquatic wanderlust as an exciting underwater photo exhibit will be
showcased, and different exhibitors are set to offer the best deals and packages,” she said.
Tan said the “clear and pristine waters” of the region “serve as home to an assortment of exceptional marine biodiversity.”

“Seeing and continuously discovering the region’s potentials, in particular, for scuba diving, we aspire to further increase awareness and support for this thriving industry,” she said.
The dive exhibit is being held at the SM Lanang Premier Mall in this city. (PNA)
