100 Caregivers, Kailangan agad sa Korea

INIANUNSYO ni South Korean Ambassador sa Pilipinas na si Lee Sang-hwa na gusto ng
kanyang bansa na tumanggap ng maraming Filipino caregivers.


Sinabi ni Lee na patuloy pa rin ang negosasyon tungkol dito, pero umaasa siya na agad
makakakuha ng 100 Filipino caregivers simula sa Disyembre 2023.


“I’ve been meeting frequently with the DMW (Department of Migrant Workers) and the DFA
(Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) because the additional layer we are discussing is (that)
we are interested in sending Filipino caregivers to Korea… Filipino caregivers have good
reputation worldwide and that will be, in our view, a win-win partnership between our
countries,” saad ni Lee.

Sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador to Korea Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega na mayroon nang
Filipino caregivers na nagtatrabaho sa South Korea pero sila’y naglilingkod ekslusibo lamang
sa diplomats, sa ilalim ng espesyal na kategorya.


Dahil sa kakulangan sa nursing facility workers, nagkaroon nang pag-uusap ang Maynila at
Seoul para matugunan ang problemang ito.


Nauna pa rito, iniulat ng The Korea Times na dumaranas ang kanilang bansa nang labis na
kakulangan ng mga manggagawa sa nursing facilities dahil sa mabilis na pagdami ng senior
citizens. Dahil dito, pumayag ang gobyerno ng South Korea na maging maluwag sa
pagbibigay ng visa sa mga banyagang caregiver.
