Setyembre: Buwan ng Pelikulang Pilipino – Jinggoy

INIHAIN ni Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada ang Senate Bill (SB) 2250 na naglalayong ideklara ang bawat buwan ng Setyembre bilang Buwan ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

Binibigyang mandato nito ang Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) na magsagawa
ng program of activities na may kinalaman sa pelikula sa panahon ng pagdiriwang.


Nilalayon ng SB 2250 na paunlarin at palawakin ang lokal na industriya ng pelikula, isulong ang
paglago at pag-unlad ng ating kultura at legasiya, gayundin ang pag-oorganisa at pagsasagawa ng lokal at internasyonal na film festivals.

Nilalayon din ng panukalang batas na isulong ang pag-ibig sa bansa at palalimin ang ating
pagkakakilanlan bilang bansa. Ang FDCP ang ahensiyang mangunguna sa taunang pagdiriwang.

Sa panahon ng festival, tanging mga bagong pelikulang Pilipino lamang ang maaaring ipalabas sa
mga sinehan sa buong bansa sa loob ng isang linggo. Kasali rin dito ang streaming websites at
platforms na nasa ilalim ng FDCP.


Magsasagawa rin ang FDCP ng national at regional activities gaya ng (film) workshops,
conferences, stakeholders summit, dialogs, at iba pang mga aktibidad na makapagtuturo para
mapahusay ang kalidad ng ating pelikula. Ilan sa mga sakop ng workshops ay film acting, directing, scriptwriting, editing, camera operations atbp.
