Sen. JV: Pinasadsad ng tatay ko ang BRP Sierra Madre

NILINAW ni Senador JV Ejercito noong Huwebes na kahit sa panahon ng kanyang ama, si
noo’y Pangulong Joseph Estrada, walang anumang commitment o pangako na aalisin ang
BRP Sierra Madre mula sa Ayungin Shoal o Second Thomas Shoal (STS).


Sa katunayan daw, ang kanyang ama mismo ang nag-utos na pasadsarin ang World War II
landing ship sa Ayungin Shoal bilang simbolo ng soberanya ng ating bansa sa naturang
lugar.


“Since his time until lately, wala akong narinig na may commitment to remove Sierra
Madre. Kumbaga mula 1999 hanggang nagka-WPS (West Philippine Sea) issue nanahimik
ang Sierra Madre at alam na ng lahat na atin ang teritoryo,” saad ng senador.

Ito ay taliwas sa opisyal na pahayag ng China na nangako ang Pilipinas na aalisin ang
barko.


Kahit na si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ay pinasungalingan ang pag-aangkin ng China.


Idinagdag pa niya na agad kakanselahin ang anumang kasunduang may kinalaman dito.


Ayon kay Ejercito, wala daw kakanselahin dahil wala namang anumang kasunduan.
