Marcos: Military drills sa WPS, lubhang mahalaga

IPINAHAYAG ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na ang patuloy na pagsasanay ng
ating hukbong lakas, kasama ang ibang kaalyadong bansa ay lubhang mahalaga dahil
sa lumalalang tensyon sa rehiyon.


Sinaksihan ni Marcos noong Biyernes ang “amphibious assault military exercise” sa
Zambales sa pagitan ng puwersa ng Pilipinas, Australia, at US. Umabot sa mahigit
2,000 sundalo ang lumahok.


“I think it’s an important aspect of how we prepare for any eventuality considering that
there have been so many events that attest to the volatility of the region,” ayon kay
Marcos.


Sinabi pa niya na isinusulong ng kanyang administrasyon ang naturang pagsasanay
para palakasin ang ating kakayahang militar at mapatibay ang ating ugnayan at
kooperasyon sa pagitan ng ating mga kapitbahay sa rehiyon.

Patuloy na sinusuportahan ng US, Australia, at Japan ang bansa habang hinaharap nito
ang paulit-ulit na harassment mula sa militar ng China, dahil sa pinag-aawayang
teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea.


Sa kanyang nakatakdang pakikipag-usap kay Australian Prime Minister Anthony
Albanese sa Setyembre, sinabi ni Marcos na pag-uusapan nila ang pagpapatuloy na iba
pang military drills.
