Paulit-ulit namang humingi ng paumanhin si Pope Francis hinggil sa mga pag-abusong
kinasangkutan ng mga pari, hindi lamang sa Pilipinas kundi sa maraming lugar sa buong mundo.
Matatandaang tinanggal noong 2021 ang isang paring Katoliko sa Pampanga dahil sa kasong
pakikiapid sa babaing may-asawa.


Ayon kay Archbishop Florentino Lavarias ng San Fernando Archdiocese, dahil daw sa sensitibo
ang usapin, tinanggal muna sa pwesto ang naturang pari sa parokya kung saan ito nakadestino.
Sinabi ng ilang observers noong 2021 na diumano, pinagtatakpan ang kaso ng pari dahil hindi ito
pinangalanan, na nagbigay-daan sana para mabuksan ang iba pang reklamo laban sa pari, kung
meron man.
