THE Eastern Police District (EPD) confiscated an estimated ₱1,197,712 worth of illegal narcotics and arrested dozens of suspects during a series of targeted anti-criminality operations conducted across eastern Metro Manila.

Under the leadership of EPD Acting District Director Police Brigadier General Melecio M. Buslig Jr., local police units executed 56 anti-illegal drug operations between August 17 and 23, 2026.

The weeklong initiative resulted in the apprehension of 62 drug suspects and the recovery of 174.64 grams of methamphetamine (shabu) alongside 44 grams of marijuana.

The coordinated enforcement actions were carried out using the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework, mobilizing elements from District Headquarters alongside Drug Enforcement Units across Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan (PaMaMariSan).

Officials emphasized that the operations reflect the PNP’s broader commitment to proactive public safety, community-centered policing, and operational integrity.

Local authorities noted that maintaining strong crime prevention measures directly supports community stability, safeguards local commerce, and fosters regional economic growth.

“The Eastern Police District will maintain its relentless push to eradicate dangerous drugs and protect our local communities,” said PBGen. Buslig in a statement following the operations.

“Driven by the directives of our PNP Chief, our personnel strive every single day to stand as a reliable, honest, and protective shield for the public we are sworn to safeguard,” added Buslig.

Moving forward, the EPD stated it will sustain maximum enforcement pressure against criminal networks across the district while deepening joint peacekeeping partnerships with local residents and civic organizations to ensure long-term community safety.
