OPERATIVES from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Parañaque City Police Station seized approximately ₱375,000 worth of high-grade marijuana, locally known as “kush,” during a targeted early morning buy-bust operation in Barangay Moonwalk on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The operation, carried out at approximately 3:20 AM along Daang Batang Street, resulted in the arrest of two suspects, identified by authorities under the aliases “Paul,” 24, a resident of Barangay Moonwalk, and “Mikko,” 24, residing in Barangay San Isidro. Both individuals are currently unemployed.
Led by Parañaque City Police Chief PCol. Nicolas Piñon, the sting was executed after an undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer successfully negotiated a deal for the illegal drugs.
Once the transaction was completed, back-up team members swiftly moved in to apprehend both suspects.
Law enforcers confiscated several sachets and plastic bags containing roughly 250 grams of high-grade marijuana, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of ₱375,000.
Police officers also recovered the ₱1,000 marked buy-bust money, a smartphone, and an eco-bag used to store and transport the contraband.
Following their arrest, the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and taken into police custody for formal booking and documentation.
Legal proceedings are underway at the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office. Alias Paul faces complaints for both Section 5 (Sale) and Section 11 (Possession) under Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Alias Mikko is being charged with violation of Section 5 (Sale).
Southern Police District (SPD) Director PBGen. Glenn Oliver C. Cinco commended PCol. Piñon and the SDEU team for their prompt execution of the operation.
He affirmed that the SPD will maintain a relentless campaign against the distribution of high-grade marijuana and other illegal substances to safeguard communities throughout Southern Metro Manila.
