Chinese na nagpanggap na Filipino, timbog sa pekeng dokumento

ARESTADO ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Chinese national na nagpanggap na Filipino gamit ang mga pekeng dokumento noong Abril 10, 2026.

Ayon kay BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., naaresto si Zhou Jianxiao, 35-anyos, sa Barangay Malainin, Ibaan, Batangas ng mga operatiba ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police Ibaan Intelligence Unit, Batangas Police Provincial Office at Ibaan Municipal Police Station.

Sa pangunguna ng BI Regional Intelligence Operations Unit 4A, inaresto si Zhou dahil sa paglabag sa Section 37(a)(7) ng Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, gaya ng sinusugan, matapos gumamit ng mga pekeng dokumento at magpanggap bilang Filipino.

Ang suspek ay gumamit umano ng alyas na “Donny Flores Zhou” sa kanyang Philippine driver’s license, kung saan nakasaad na siya ay mamamayang Pilipino.

Napag-alaman din ng mga otoridad na si Zhou ay nagpapatakbo sa operasyon ng isang bodega sa Brgy. Malainin, Ibaan, Batangas.

Ang karagdagang inspeksyon sa nasabing lugar ay humantong sa pagkakadakip sa tatlo pang Chinese national na kinilalang sina Li Qican, Ji Jingui, at Chen Longlong.

Sila ay inaresto rin dahil sa iba’t ibang immigration violations, kabilang na ang pagiging overstaying, paglabag sa mga kondisyon ng kanilang pananatili, at pagtatrabaho nang walang kaukulang visa o working permit. (PERCIVAL GILHANG)
