Target na komite ni Hontiveros, ibibigay sa iba?

MATAPOS ang botohan kung sino ang magiging senate president, majority at minority leader at iba pang posisyon, karaniwan nang isusunod kaagad ang pagbibigay ng committee chairmanship sa bawat senador.

At karaniwan ding nananalo ang isang senate president dahil sa patiuna nang pinag-uusapan na ibibigay niya ang committee chairmanship na hinahangad ng isang senador.

Sa unang regular sesyon ng senado, inilabas nito ang naging resulta sa kung sino ang magiging tsirman ng iba’t ibang mga komite, alinman sa mananatili ito sa dating may hawak mula noong nakaraang ika-19 na Kongreso o mapupunta ito sa iba.

Dahil nasa minorya sina Risa Hontiveros, Loren Legarda, Juan Miguel ‘Migz’ Zubiri at Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson, wala pang ibinibigay na committee chairmanships sa kanila.

Target ni Hontiveros na maibigay muli sa kaniya ang chairmanship ng Committee on Women and Children na pinamunuan din niya noong nakaraang ika-19 na Kongreso.

Matatandaan na noong 19th Congress, inimbestigahan ni Hontiveros, sa ilalim ng kaniyang komite si Pastor Apollo Quiboloy ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) sa mga alegasyon ng pang-aabuso sa kababaihan.

Dahil matalik na magkaibigan sina Quiboloy at dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, hindi maiwasan na madamay ang pamilyang Duterte sa nasabing mga isyu na ipinagtanggol ng mga kaalyado nito sa senado at kongreso.

Batay sa rekord, kasama sa nagpanatili kay Escudero bilang senate president ay ang tinaguriang Duterte bloc na kinabibilangan nina Senador Bong Go, Imee Marcos, Rodante Marcoleta, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Robin Padilla, at ang magkapatid na sina Mark at Camille Villar.

Posible kaya na makaapekto ito sa pagbabalik ng nasabing komite kay Hontiveros?
