KASADO na at approval na lamang ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) para matuloy ang pagsosolo bilang Caloocan City Police District (CCPD) na pang-anim na  police district na sakop ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Sa nakalap na impormasyon mula kay Caloocan City Police Station chief Col. Ruben Lacuesta, ang panukala ay matagal nang isinumite ng mga nakatataas sa Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Camp Crame at  NCRPO bago sa Napolcom na kung saan hihiwalay na ang Caloocan sa nakasanayang CaMaNaVa at magiging Malabon, Navotas at Valenzuela (MaNaVa) na lamang at hihiwalay na sa Northern Police District (NPD).

“Naghihintay na lamang ang PNP ng paborableng tugon mula sa Napolcom na nangangasiwa at kumokontrol sa una, kung mangyayari iyon, malapit na tayong magkaroon ng Caloocan City Police District na hiwalay sa NPD na may hurisdiksyon din sa iba pang mga kalapit na lungsod ng Valenzuela, Malabon at Navotas,” ayon kay Lacuesta.

Sa kasalukuyan, mayroong limang distrito ang PNP, kabilang ang Manila Police District (MPD),  Quezon City Police District.(QCPD), Southern Police District (SPD), Eastern Police District (EPD) at NPD

Giit ni Lacuesta na  qualified ang Caloocan City na maging solo district dahil sa lawak ng nasasakupan nito na kung saan una na itong naitulak ng nagdaang hepe ng Caloocan.

Kasabay nito, inaasahan ng Caloocan Police ang pagpapatayo ng modernong apat na palapag na gusali at isa pang tatlong palapag na istraktura para sa punong-tanggapan ng pulisya at bumbero mula sa proyekto nina Caloocan District 1 Rep. Oscar ‘Oca’ Malapitan at Mayor Dale Gonzalo ‘Along’ Malapitan.

Binanggit ni Lacuesta ang mga bentahe ng lungsod na magkaroon ng sariling distrito ay tulad ng pagbibigay ng mas maraming pulis o higit sa 3,000 tauhan upang tumugma sa bilang ng mga residente at pagtatayo ng mas maraming unit at police substation.
