Nalulugod si Marcos sa US$1-B investment ng Coke

NAGING kasiya-siya kay ang US$1 bilyong expansion plan ng Coca-Cola Philippines, ayon sa Palasyo nitong Peb. 27.

Nakipagkita sa Pangulo ang matataas na opisyal ng Coca-Cola sa Malacañang Palace nitong Lunes, Peb. 26, na pinag-usapan ang pagpapalawak ng operasyon ng kumpanya sa bansa.

“It’s very encouraging that you have decided to expand your operations here. I can, I am sure to the success simply because we have the markets here, growing, the people are, our population is relatively young, and so they are still very much in your market and I can see how the expansion could work,” ayon kay Marcos.

Kasama sa pulong sina Sabin Aboitiz, pangulo at CEO ng Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) at si Sol Daurella Comadrán, chair, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP).

Kamakailan lang ay binili ng CCEP ang Coca-Cola Philippines sa mahigit na P100 bilyon. Ang share ng Aboitiz ay 40 percent samantalang ang CCEP ay 60 percent.

Ayon kay Comadran, mayroon silang mahigit sa 100,000 kawani, at masaya sila sa pamumuhunan sa Pilipinas. Sa loob ng susunod na limang taon, mag-iinvest sila ng US$1 bilyon, kasama rito ang bagong planta na ginagawa sa Tarlac.

Ang CCEP ang natatanging distributor ng Coke products sa bansa, at ito rin ang pinakamalaki sa Asia-Pacific.
