IDINEKLARA ng Kamara nitong Miyerkules ang kanilang suporta kay Speaker Ferdinand
Martin Romualdez laban sa mga “walang basehang akusasyon” ng mga senador laban sa
People’s Initiative.
Matatandaang inakusahan ng ilang senador ang Speaker — pati na ang pinsan ni
Romualdez na si Sen. Imee Marcos — na siyang nasa likod ng diumano’y pangangalap ng
pirma at panunuhol sa mga botante sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa.
Ang pagsuporta at pinangunahan nina House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe Sr.,
Deputy Speaker at Pampanga Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker at Quezon Rep.
David Suarez, kasama ang ilan pang miyembro ng partido.
Sa isang resolusyon na ihahain sa Lunes, tinuligsa ng mga miyembro ng Kongreso ang
agresibong taktika ng ginamit ng Senado, na dapat daw ay sumunod ito sa inter-
Parliamentary courtesy.
“It [the Resolution} aims to uphold the integrity and honor of the House of
Representatives in the face of intense assault from the Senate, a violation of the
principle of inter-parliamentary courtesy and undue interference in its legislative and
constituent functions,” ayon kay Gonzales.
Ayon pa sa mga kongresista, “The House aims to affirm its dedication to upholding the
principles of inter-parliamentary courtesy and safeguarding its legislative and
constituent functions from undue interference.”
