₱150-M donasyon ng SMC sa PDLs

NANGAKO ang San Miguel Corporation (SMC) na magdo-donate ng ₱150 milyon para maihanda ang PDLs o persons deprived of liberty sa kanilang paglaya sa pamamagitan ng skills building.

Ginawa ni SMC president at CEO Ramon S. Ang ang pangako na magbibigay ng pagkain at kagamitan sa paaralan sa kanyang pagbisita sa University of Perpetual Help System Dalta sa Medium Security Compound sa New Bilibid Prison nitong Pebrero 2.

Ang donasyon ay kinapapalooban ng ₱100 milyon na halaga ng pagkain para sa PDLs, at ₱50 milyong halaga ng kagamitan para sa paaralan.

Tiniyak din ni Ang na ang mga kwalipikadong PDLs na nagtapos, na pwede silang kunin ng mga kompanya ng SMC para magtrabaho.

BASAHIN  'One Education' inilunsad ng DepEd, CHED, at TESDA

Sinabi pa ni Ang na ang Bureau of Corrections at SMC ay makikipagtulungan sa Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), para sa ngayon palang, makapagsanay ang mga estudyanteng PDL sa mga trabahong kakailanganin ng SMC kagaya ng sa construction.

Ayon kay BuCor Director Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., umabot na 9,061 PDLs ang nakapagtapos sa TESDA Community-based Training Program sa loob ng ilang taon.
