NILAGDAAN nitong Martes, Enero 30, ang kasunduan para maglagay ng isang hotline
para mapabilis ang komunikasyon sa pagitan ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at
Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG).

Ang memorandum of understanding (MoU) ay nilagdaan nina PCG Chief Admiral
Ronnie Gil Gavan at VCG commander Maj. Gen. Le Quang Dao.

Ito ay sinaksihan nina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vietnamese President Vo Van
Thuong, at iba pang opisyal ng gobyerno ng dalawang bansa.

Nais palakasin ng MoU ang “understanding, mutual trust, and confidence” sa pagitan
ng PCG at VCG sa pamamagitan nang pag-uusap sa karaniwang mga isyu at interes,
pati na rin ang paglalagay ng hotline.

Sinabi ni Gavan na palalakasin nito ang partnership at kooperasyon sa pagitan ng
coast guards ng dalawang bansa para pagtataguyod, pagpapanatili, at pagbibigay-
proteksyon sa mga magkatulad na interes sa rehiyon.

Pinapurihan ni Thuong si Marcos sa mga nagawa nito para mapaunlad ang ekonomiya
ng bansa, pati na rin sa larangan ng foreign policies, security, at defense.

Nakabalik na si Marcos kahapon ng umaga mula sa kanyang state visit sa Vietnam, na
nagsimula nitong Lunes, Enero 29.

Lumago ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas sa 5.6% sa huling kwarter ng 2023.

Ayon sa pna.gov.ph, sa mga umuunlad na ekonomiya sa Asya, ikalawa ang Pilipinas sa
Vietnam na may 6.8% growth rate, samantalang ang China ay mayroon lamang
5.2%, at Malaysia 3.4%.
