Psycho test bago kumuha ng driver’s license; Dapat neuro-psychiatric test din?

BALAK ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) na gawing isa sa requirements ang pagkuha
at pagpasa ng psychological test sa mga aplikante sa driver’s license.


Ayon kay Vigor Mendoza II, hepe ng LTO, dahil daw sa patuloy na pagtaas ng bilang ng
road rage sa bansa, pinag-aaralan nila na maisama sa dagdag requirement ang psychological test.


Nakikipagpulong ngayon ang mga taga-LTO sa Philippine Medical Association hinggil sa
kanilang panukala. Pero kailangang pa raw ang mga pag-aaral bago ito pwedeng
ipatupad.


“We are open for all options na makakatulong sa problema, pero kung may 10 percent lamang ang pasaway na drivers ang concern[ed] dito at mabibigatan lamang ang 90 percent drivers sa dagdag requirements, e mas ok ako na huwag muna, depende, pag aaralan pang mabuti ‘yan,” ayon kay Mendoza.

Umabot sa mahigit sa 10 motorista ang ipinatawag ng LTO dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa
road rage incidents. Sila’y dinisiplina ng LTO at ang iba’y pinatawan ng suspension.


Samantala, ayon kay Isay Molato ng Sociedad Filipino Intellegente, dapat daw gawing
requirement ang neuro-psychiatric test para sa mga gustong maging professional o public utility drivers dahil sangkot daw ang maraming buhay dito. Kung sakaling ipatutupad ito sa hinaharap, dapat daw gumawa ng paraan ang gobyerno para maging abot-kaya ang halaga ng neuro-psychiatric test.
