US$11-B utang ng ‘Pinas sa WB ginawang “fixed rate”

Ginawang “fixed rate” ng Pilipinas ang interest rate nang pagkakautang nito na US$11.13 bilyon sa World Bank, ayon sa Department of Finance (DoF), nitong Biyernes.

Dahil sa pagkilos na ito ng DoF, makakatipid daw ang gobyerno ng aabot sa US$125.1 milyon na interes at maiiwasan ng bansa na matangay sa agos nang mas mataas na interes rates sa world
financial market.

Ang transaksyon, na ginawa nitong nakaraang buwan, ay nagresulta sa average fixed interest rate na 4.19 percent [bawat taon] para sa 40 proyekto na inutang ng Pilipinas sa International Bank for Reconstruction and Development o World Bank.

Target ng bansa na ibaba ang debt-to-GDP ratio nito na mas mababa pa ng 60 percent sa 2025, at ibaba pa ito ng three percent sa 2028, mula sa kasalukuyang 6.5 percent debt-to-GDP ratio.
