Bill na naglalayong maiwasan ang teenage pregnancy, inaprobahan 500 teenagers, nabubuntis bawat araw

INAPRUBAHAN ng Kongreso kahapon sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang House Bill (HB) No. 8910,
sa botong 232, nang walang tumutol, at wala ring abstention.


Ang HB 8910 ay naglalayung maiwasan ang teenage pregnancies at maprotektahan ang mga
batang ina.


Nais ng Kongreso – sa pangunguna ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez – na masolusyunan
ang lumalalang problema sa maagang pagbubuntis ng teenagers, pati na mga bata. Ito raw ay
lumilikha ng seryoso, pangmatagalang problema hindi lang sa ina at sanggol, kundi maging sa
pamayanan.


Lumala pa raw ang teenage pregnancy magmula nang nagsimula ang Covid-19 noong 2020, dahil
lahat ng tao, lalo na ang mga kabataan, ay dapat manatili sa tahanan.


“The social cost of this issue and the negative impact on the national budget could run into billions -in terms of the government having to take care of young mothers and their babies. There is also the human development aspect,” saad ni Romualdez.

BASAHIN  21M students ready na sa klase


Dapat daw ihanda ng estado ang kabataan para sa isang malusog na buhay-adolescent at buhay-
adulto, pati na rin ang pagiging responsibleng magulang sa pamamagitan nang pagtuturo sa kanila nang wastong moral at sexual values.


Sinipi ni Rep. Edcel Lagman, 1D, Albay, ang 2020 UN Population Fund Report, na nagsasabing
mahigit daw sa 500 kabataang babae ang nabubuntis o nanganganak araw-araw sa bansa, at
umabot na sa mahigit 182,500 kanila ang nanganganak bawat taon. Halos P33 bilyon bawat taon
ang epekto sa ating ekonomiya nang maagang pagbubuntis.


Samantala, ayon sa UN Women Asia and the Pacific, noon daw 2020, sa kasagsagan ng
pandemic, umabot sa mahigit 102,000 kabataang babae ang nanganak sa bansa.


Dahil sa ganitong problema, inaasahan na kaagad lalagdaan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
ang HB No. 8910 para maging isang ganap na batas.
