Tech-Voc programs dapat pahusayin

DAPAT mapahusay pa ang technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs na may mas mataas na level ng certification at may kaakibat na mataas sa sweldo.


Ito ang lumabas sa isang pag-aaral ng tanggapan ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, base sa datus ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Lumalabas sa pag-aaral na nitong Mayo wala pang isang porsyento o 0.2 percent lamang sa 31 TESDA-accredited TVET programs ang nakapagturo at nakapagsanay ng mga estudyante na may National Certificate (NC) Level IV.


Umabot lang sa 3.7 percent o 548 ang TVET diploma programs samantala may 7.3 percent lang ang may NC I, 79 percent ang may NC II, ang bumubuo ng 86.3 percent ng TESDA-accredited TVET programs.

Idiniin ni Gatchalian na ang manggagawa na may NC Level IV certificates ay makagagawa ng
kumplikado at hindi rutin na trabaho gaya ng pangunguna, pag-oorganisa at superbisyon.


Nalulungkot ang senador na karamihan sa TVET trainees ay natuto lamang ng basic o entry-level
skills na may NC I at NC II certificates. Kakaunti lamang ang nagpapatuloy para makakuha ng NC III, NC IV, at mas mataas na level.
